2010 Philadelphia Marathon Result


Daniel Vassallo of Massachusetts was the winner of the race in 2:21:28. He finished strong and had a great race. For the women, Mariska Kramer of the Netherlands was first in 2:38:55. To read more about the winners, click here.


Philadelphia Area runners were a strong presence in the race. Ross Martinson, 32, of Conshohocken finished 9th in 2:27:33. Bouchaib Chakir of Philadelphia was 11th in 2:29:07 and Nathan Ennist 12th in 2:30:00. Karl Savage did not run today.


Emily Hulme, 25, of Havertown was the third overall female in 2:44:30. 23 year old Mary Kelly of Broomall was the sixth female in 2:49:13. Local favorite Abby Dean finished 9th among the female runners in 2:52:30.

Bill Dolton running his first marathon today - finished in 5:00:34.

Husband and wife team, Jeremy Jordan & Laurel Harrish, running 9 months post-partum, 4:25:34.

17th Annual Philadelphia Marathon 2010




The 17th annual Philadelphia Marathon is scheduled to begin at 7 a. m. sunday. The start/finish line is at 22d Street and the actual Benjamin Franklin Parkway, along with organizers said they anticipated 11, 000 runners to be able to challenge the 26. 2-mile course.

A half-marathon, set to go off together as the marathon, has 9, 000 registered athletes. More than 50, 000 spectators are expected to line the course to watch the marathon runners, organizers stated. The male and womans winners will receive $3, five hundred each.

John Crews associated with Raleigh, N. C.,earned last year's event with

2 hours, 17 mins, 15 seconds, and Jutta Merilainen connected with Ontario, Canada, was the superior woman finisher, in couple of: 46: 44.

The marathon lessons runs through Center area to Penn's Landing, university City, and Manayunk before winding around Kelly Drive and back to the Art Museum.
